About Us

Fire & Safety Outfitters began designing and manufacturing firefighter and medical gear bags in the year 2000. These bags were proprietary in nature and were primarily sold directly to the end user. Over the next three years the popularity of our bags grew along with our product line.

In early 2003 we moved into a larger building and began producing our own line of strobe power supplies marketed under the FSO Lightning Series brand. As our sales grew so did our presence in the public safety market.

In early 2005 we began conducting research on the use of Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) in the emergency warning industry. In the latter part of that year we partnered with Juluen Enterprise Company of Taiwan to assist in the development of a broad new line of LED warning lights. The purpose of this new line was to produce a superior quality lighting application that was more affordable to the end user. These new strobe and LED products would be marketed under the AXIXTECH brand.

In addition to the many new LED products that became available, a new strobe technology was born. The introduction of our Pro-X line of strobe kits added many new features and patterns never before available in a strobe power supply. The dreaded task of running and splicing control wires was eliminated with the addition of our Smart-X switch panel, which plugs directly into the Pro-X power supply.

With the continued growth of our bag line we added an additional warehouse in 2005 located in Los Angeles, CA, to assist in the inventory of those products. This allowed us to ship virtually any-sized order within 48 hours of receipt. We know of no one else in the industry with such a quick delivery time to their customers.

In early 2006, Lightning X Products was formed as a subsidiary of Fire & Safety Outfitters. Lightning X would continue to produce the finest fire and medical bags and market the AXIXTECH line now through new distribution channels worldwide. The remainder of 2006 proved to be a huge year of growth for Lightning X, so much that we had once again out-grown our facilities.

In May of 2007 we moved into a new facility in Charlotte, NC. Now with over 5,000 square feet of warehouse space in our Charlotte location, in addition to our LA warehouse, we are able to supply our distributors with product much quicker than the current industry standard. We continue to grow both our bag and lighting lines with record speed, introducing new products several times per year.
